Corporate Tax return filing

Returns prepared, reviewed and filed to a calendar, with the numbers reconciled to the accounts they came from.

What it is

A return is the visible output of decisions taken months earlier about treatment, adjustments and intra-group transactions. The filing itself is mechanical; whether it can be supported is not.

Who it applies to

Who this is for.

  • Entities approaching their first filing
  • Groups filing across several entities with different year ends
  • Businesses whose previous return was prepared without a documented basis
  • Entities with related-party transactions requiring disclosure

What we do

The work itself.

  1. Reconcile the return to the financial statements and trial balance

  2. Identify and support the adjustments required

  3. Review related-party transactions and their documentation

  4. Second-review the return before submission

  5. File and retain the supporting file

What you provide

What we will need from you.

Gathering these before the first conversation shortens everything that follows.

  • Final or draft financial statements for the period
  • Trial balance and supporting schedules
  • Detail of related-party transactions
  • Prior period return and workings, if any

Timeline

Preparation and review typically takes two to three weeks per entity once the financial statements are final, and less where we also prepare the accounts.

Rates, thresholds and filing dates change. We confirm the current position for your entity in writing rather than publishing figures that may date.

Questions

What people ask.

Yes. Most of the preparation can be done from a stable trial balance, with the return finalised once the accounts are signed.

What follows

  • A person in the relevant practice reads it, not a routing queue.
  • One reply that already contains a view, not a request to book a call.
  • A written scope and fee basis, or a straight answer that there is no work to do.
